“I booked a sea view room, junior suite, including breakfast, on the Marriot Bonvoy App weeks prior to my arrival on September 4, 2021 for my wife and I. Upon arrival we were escorted to our room with a perfect view of the "kids club." Not what I paid for and expected to say the least. No other rooms were available according to management. Evidently my American euros don't carry as much weight as the Deutsch euros at this place. Complaints were made and the room changed the next day. We were comped a 12 euro bottle of Cava and two massages for our troubles. Danielle, assistant to the general manager, gave me a generic, "sorry we couldn't meet your expectations despite of all the efforts we have made." What Danielle doesn't understand is that I went on vacation to "de-stress--not be stressed." They shouldn't of had to go out of there way--they should have given me the room I paid for on day one! Minor issues, (first world complaints, I know) were the leaky sink that flooded the bathroom floor, the failure to routinely provide clean glassware and replenish the fruit in the room. The concierge didn't have the ability to book any restaurants other than tourist traps. Keep in mind this is the St Regis, not the Red Roof Inn on I-95, I was staying and paying for. As I mentioned previously I prepaid for breakfast. Upon check out I was billed for four breakfasts as we were 20 minutes late on two occasions while on vacation. Management was unwilling to waive this charge. Considering the substantial cost of this stay the "Mickey Mouse, nickel and dime" attitude of management at the conclusion of my stay only serves to underline the lack of hospitality and respect this so-called five star resort afforded my wife and I. I'm still waiting to hear from the manager, not his assistant.”
